Context

Getting autonomous vehicles onto public roads is a monumental challenge. Autonomy is still a long way from being able to handle all situations and especially from handling unplanned obstacles. Nuro wanted to accelerate our ability to get vehicles on roads by creating a remote operating experience that would help the vehicle overcome difficult-to-maneuver obstacles.

Objective

We decided to create a full platform that would allow operators to remotely take full control over the vehicle to bypass obstacles and make difficult maneuvers.
